The Lord let Moses hear his voice; he led him into the deep darkness, and he gave Moses commandments face-to-face, an instruction for life, and knowledge to teach the covenant to Jacob and his laws to Israel.
For he heard him, and his voice, and brought him into a cloud.
He let him hear his voice and led him into the dark cloud, where, face-to-face, he gave him the commandments, the Law that gives life and knowledge, so that Moses might teach the covenant regulations to the Israelites.
